Bakery Associate

Job Summary

Proofs and bakes all unfinished bakery goods by following product handling information using ovens or other equipment. Unpacks bakery goods from freezer and displays proper amounts following bakery production chart recommendations. Maintains all cleaning and safety standards within the bakery department.

• Answer questions and recommend bakery items.
• Answer member calls and take special orders.
• Use bakery production charts as a guide for production and display needs.
• Gather products for next business day prep.
• Package freshly baked goods: cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, cakes.
• Unpack bakery goods and display proper amounts.
• Decorate special order or case product.
• Rotate and store bakery products following food safety and freshness policies.
• Receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments.
• Check for out‑of‑date products daily and follow salvage and stale product procedures.
• Generate labels and price tickets, ensuring accurate pricing.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, display fixtures, and food surfaces: ovens, utensils, refrigerated cases, display racks, tables.
• Operate and handle bakery equipment following safety policies.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Experience in a bakery or customer service environment preferred.
• Knowledge of bakery products preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Mostly moving on non‑hard surfaces; requires bending, pulling, reaching, pushing, stooping. Frequently lifts up to 30 lbs and may lift heavier with assistance. Operates in indoor environment with exposure to temperature extremes, cleaning agents.

Starting from $16.25 per hour. Salary varies by location, education, experience, and qualifications.
