Assistant Store Manager

Location: 25410 S Arizona Ave, Chandler, Arizona 85248

Starting Pay: $47,000.00 per year

Monthly performance bonus of up to $1,000 based on performance goals.

• Lead the daily operations of the sales floor at a Retail Store location for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities.
• Assist with leading the production room as appropriate.
• People leadership, store operations, customer service, financial management, inventory control, donation processing, and training and development of store Team Members.
• Develop and execute retail operations plan to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for operating income, revenue, and production.
• Monitor product levels (floor work, as‑is, recycle, trash, seasonal back stock) daily to meet sales budget targets.
• Ensure payroll costs and operating costs are managed within budget.
• Ensure Team Members deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers, including de‑escalating situations.
• Ensure store locations are clean, well‑kept, and reflect the Goodwill brand.
• Partner with community businesses and organizations to promote the Goodwill mission.
• Serve as a Goodwill ambassador to the community.
• Work as the key holder for the store, closing shift manager, and backup to the Store Manager.
• Process complex sales transactions, including customer returns.
• Ensure Team Members operate per company standards and procedures.
• Travel to other GCNA locations to assist other stores and attend training and development classes.
• Transfer to different stores as business needs dictate.
• Partner with support areas (Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, Finance, etc.) to further business goals and ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Build a high‑performing team and manage performance, staffing, compensation, and development.
• Play a critical role in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• One‑year work experience in Retail Management required.
• One‑year customer service experience required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
