What Will You Do?
As Automotive Sales/Account Manager, you will drive business growth with Automotive Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers throughout North America. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role for a motivated technical sales professional who enjoys prospecting, developing relationships, identifying new applications, and helping customers solve complex material challenges.
- Identify and develop strategic automotive Tier 1, and Tier 2 accounts.
- Prospect for new opportunities and building a robust sales pipeline.
- Manage and grow existing accounts
- Work closely with product development and technical teams to qualify for new application opportunities.
- Develop relationships with key decision-makers and secure material specifications at target accounts.
- Implement product, pricing, and market strategies to achieve profitable growth.
- Negotiate contracts and value-based agreements.
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitive activity.
- Coordinate closely with application engineers, technical sales, customer operations, and distribution partners.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and customer activity reports.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade associations.
- Perform up to 40% overnight travel
What Are the Hiring Criteria?
- 3-5 years or more of sales, technical sales, or business development experience within the plastics industry.
- BS degree preferred in Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience selling materials, compounds, resins, polymers, or engineered plastics into automotive applications.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop new business, and manage long sales cycles.
- Experience working with automotive suppliers.
- Strong organizational skills, CRM discipline, and follow-through.
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic and customer focus.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Candidates located in Georgia, North Carolina, or Michigan preferred.
