Position Details- Title:
Full‑time Physical Science Technician (NJ‑1311‑03) - Location:
78 ABW/78 CEG, Robins AFB, Warner Robins, Georgia - Salary Range: $61,722 – $97,087 per year (includes locality)

Provide advanced technical support and laboratory analysis using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques and instrumentation to determine water pollution constituents and treatment efficiencies of industrial and domestic water treatment processes and generate plant effectiveness data for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Laboratory analysis follows EPA, CFR Title 40, Clean Water Act regulations.
Responsibilities- Perform advanced analytical techniques to assess water pollution constituents and treatment efficiencies.
- Generate plant effectiveness data for the Environmental Protection Agency.
- Operate and maintain analytical equipment used in a laboratory environment.
- Read, interpret, and write operating procedures and other technical data.
- Apply good and safe laboratory practices.
- Gather, analyze, organize, and present data and supporting analyses.
- Communicate findings orally and in writing.
- Chemistry theory, principles, and practices.
- Mathematics and statistics foundations.
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytical methods in chemistry.
- Quality assurance and quality control principles, practices, and procedures.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and write operating procedures and other technical data.
- Proficiency in safe laboratory practices.
- Ability to gather, analyze, organize, and present data.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Current U.S. citizenship.
- Current AFMC employee.
- Valid state of Georgia Wastewater Laboratory Analyst certificate.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- Prepared to train and/or guide personnel in performance of duties if required.
- Required to obtain job‑related certifications.
- Position is non‑exempt under FLSA; AF2539 bargaining unit status does not meet 7112(a) of the Federal Service Labor‑Management Relations Statute.
