Job Description:

The Georgia Department of Defense is seeking a General Trades Tech 2 - HVAC to work at the 116thAir Wing in Warner Robins, Georgia. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation: Install new heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in accordance with company standards and local building codes.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot system failures, diagnose issues, and perform necessary repairs or part replacements efficiently.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers, explaining complex technical issues in easy-to-understand terms and providing recommendations for system improvements or replacements.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, maintenance, and inventory used on the job.
Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those applicants that meet the minimum qualifications, additionally possess:

  • Valid EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal).
  • 2 to 3 years of proven experience as an HVAC Technician.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, schematics, and local codes.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in varying environments (crawl spaces, rooftops, extreme weather).
Selected applicant must meet the following standards:
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check (which includes criminal records check, driver’s history, and verification
    of work history) and a post-hire federal background investigation.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing
    Program.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation .

    Minimum Qualifications:
