Job Description:
The Georgia Department of Defense is seeking a General Trades Tech 2 - HVAC to work at the 116th Air Wing in Warner Robins, Georgia. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Installation:
Install new heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in accordance with company standards and local building codes. - Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity. - Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot system failures, diagnose issues, and perform necessary repairs or part replacements efficiently. - Customer Service:
Communicate effectively with customers, explaining complex technical issues in easy-to-understand terms and providing recommendations for system improvements or replacements. - Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, maintenance, and inventory used on the job.
- Preference will be given to those applicants that meet the minimum qualifications, additionally possess:
Valid EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal). - 2 to 3 years of proven experience as an HVAC Technician.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, schematics, and local codes.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in varying environments (crawl spaces, rooftops, extreme weather).
- Paid Leave Vacation: 10 hours per month (15 days each year)
- Sick Leave: 10 hours per month (15 days each year)
