Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required;

Must be able to obtain, and maintain, a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) including appropriate endorsement(s) within 6 months of employment in this position.

ExaminationThe examination will consist of a review of education and experience, accomplished by analysis of the application. Application must document that the applicant possesses the minimum knowledge, skills, education and experience as listed to be rated as eligible. If selected, an official, accredited college transcript is required, at time of employment, for all degrees/course work used to qualify for this position.

The purpose of this classification is to provide assistance with the handling, stocking, physical inventory, and delivery of supplies and materials. This series is distinguished from the Purchasing series by its focus on the warehousing, control, and release of equipment, materials, and supplies.
Essential Functions- Loads, unloads, receives stocks, and stores parts, supplies, and materials.
- Conducts physical inventory; places decals on items; records identification numbers.
- Delivers and retrieves supplies and materials and maintains records of deliveries.
- Operates a County vehicle to deliver supplies and materials to various site locations.
- Maintains assigned storeroom, warehouse, and loading dock in a clean and orderly manner.
- Assists with placing orders and completing receiving documentation as required.
- Responds to customer questions and resolves problems as required.
- Assists office personnel with answering incoming calls when needed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Leadership Under Pressure: Quickly identifies which orders, deliveries, or inventory needs must be addressed first; assists coworkers and leads by example when deadlines tighten or unexpected shortages occur; demonstrates reliability and consistency during peak operational demands.
Operational Planning and Execution: Organizes stock levels, tracks materials, and ensures timely replenishment; plans daily tasks such as receiving, staging, and issuing materials; maintains accurate logs, receipts, and system entries for traceability.
Adaptability and Rapid Problem Solving: Quickly addresses missing items, damaged goods, or unexpected delivery changes; adjusts priorities when urgent material needs arise from maintenance, production, and field teams; finds alternatives when stock is low or substitutions are required.
