Akkodis is seeking a Account Receivable/Cash Applications Associate in Warren, MI. The ideal candidate will have experience with cash applications, accounts receivable, collections, payment processing, or reconciliation, along with strong attention to detail and intermediate Excel skills. This person will work closely with internal teams, including Collections and Transportation, while also communicating with customers when payment issues or discrepancies need to be resolved.
Pay Range: $16/hr.
- $18/hr. (The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Key Responsibilities
- Process and accurately apply customer payments received through lockbox, PO Box, ACH, credit cards, and route delivery.
- Apply check payments to customer accounts using the AS400 system.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies and account variances by reviewing historical information and contacting customers as needed.
- Work closely with Collections and Transportation teams to investigate and resolve payment-related issues.
- Reconcile daily cash postings between internal systems and bank records.
- Support testing, reconciliation, and implementation of new processes.
- Assist with improving existing policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the department.
- Communicate professionally with internal customers, external customers, and cross-functional teams when issues require escalation.
- Participate in process-mapping activities and assist with developing, documenting, implementing, and training on new processes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in Cash Applications, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Payment Processing, or Reconciliation is preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to research discrepancies, identify issues, and develop solutions.
