PAAM’s Child Abuse Prosecution Resources Training Unit
The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan (PAAM) is hiring a conference coordinator and administrative assistant. This position will assist the Director of the Child Abuse Prosecution Resources (CAPR) Training Unit with administrative and conference coordinator duties. It will also provide general administrative support and conference support for other PAAM activities. The conference coordinator will report to the CAPR unit director and PAAM’s Senior Administrative Manager and Event Coordinator.
Responsibilitiesand Duties
This full‑time position is funded for at least two years with longer term sustained funding being sought. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with creating and coordinating the dissemination of educational materials and trainings on topics related to the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases as well as other training areas as necessary to support PAAM activities.
- Review and negotiate hotel contract proposals and audit bills.
- Arrange all on‑site conference and training needs including room setup, audio‑visual requirements, meals, and overnight accommodations when necessary.
- Provide audio‑visual support at conferences and trainings.
- Maintain records of trainings conducted, number of attendees, and other relevant data.
- General office work, supply ordering, and other tasks as assigned.
- Associate degree or two years relevant experience preferred.
- Familiarity with the criminal justice system, prosecution, child protection proceedings, or victim advocacy services preferred.
- Must be able to review hotel contracts and be familiar with the needs of scheduling conferences including booking hotel rooms, training rooms, and using audio visual equipment, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy required. Must have excellent organizational, verbal, and writing skills, including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, as well as Zoom and Google products required.
- Ability to create and maintain directories and databases.
- Must be willing to learn and use PAAM’s online event management system.
- Ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism are required.
Salary: $48,297 – $59,924, depending on experience. A competitive benefits package is available, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid leave.
The primary workstation is Lansing, Michigan. In‑state travel, including overnight travel, may be required. Telecommuting is permitted at the discretion of PAAM management.
