Experienced Automotive Defense Mechanics

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Experienced Automotive Defense Mechanics for an Automotive Tier 1 Supplier. The Full-time Experienced Automotive Defense Mechanics will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Full-time Experienced Automotive Defense Mechanics will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members. This Full-time Experienced Automotive Defense Mechanics position is based out of Warren, MI and offers AM day shift plus overtime as needed.

• AM day shift
  : 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday, plus overtime as needed)

• Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
• Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
• Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
• Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
• Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Mechanic
• Knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Has own tools with rolling toolbox
• Able to work overtime and weekends
• Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident allowing for ITAR compliance
• Proficient in the use of maintenance tools, repair and special tools, diagnostic equipment
• Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) according to project expectations and Technical Manuals (TMs) or work instructions
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing military vehicle platforms (wheeled and tracked)
• Prior military service in a wheeled or tracked vehicle mechanic MOS (e.g., 91B, 91H, 3521, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Experience operating heavy equipment, tactical recovery vehicles, forklifts, or shop support equipment

• Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
• National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
• State Mechanic Certification(s)
• Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
