Facilities Manager – Operations Services, Detroit, Michigan (on‑site). This position requires travel between operating sites and may involve overnight stays.

Essential Functions
  • Oversee all aspects of energy production facilities, including commissioning, operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, budgeting, financial performance, EHS, efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Drive plans and actions to meet site objectives and customer contract Key Performance Indicators.
  • Lead site safety performance by enforcing regulatory and company rules, providing training, and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Investigate near misses and incidents, implement corrective actions, and observe safe work practices.
  • Build and maintain positive relations with key customer management and staff to ensure the company maintains a positive image and adheres to customer contracts.
  • Manage orientation, training, and development plans to enhance operator technical and leadership skills.
  • Establish performance expectations, track progress, and complete constructive performance appraisals.
  • Responsible for employee scheduling, daily work direction, overtime authorization, and 24/7 contingency coverage plans.
  • Oversee profit and loss performance by developing accurate budgets and forecasts, ensuring efficient use of funds, and managing labor and overtime costs to achieve site financial objectives.
  • Manage the overall health of the preventative maintenance system by ensuring effective CMMS utilization and implementing preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance strategies that support reliable plant and equipment performance.
  • Coordinate work with subcontractors to support maintenance and projects.
  • Responsible for collection and documentation of measurement and verification data.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive monthly reports to the COR for all ESPC activities, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of all information provided.
  • Verify all customer invoices to ensure accurate cost allocation to the correct projects and submit time and material invoices to the government in a timely manner.
  • Support ESPC and Above Baseline projects, including commissioning, quality assurance, and maintenance turnover activities.
  • Lead root cause investigations for major equipment issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Complete all training modules as required by the position and/or management.
  • Responsible for operator coverage as needed during times of absence or staffing gaps.
  • Perform all duties as deemed necessary by management.
Background
  • A high-level understanding of boiler and HVAC systems.
  • Five or more years of related experience in Energy Services, Performance Contracting, and/or HVAC industry.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Extensive field experience installing, repairing, maintaining, and modifying boilers and HVAC systems.
  • In‑depth technical knowledge of facility energy infrastructure, mechanical and electrical systems, energy conservation practices, and ancillary building systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting relevant equipment and systems.
  • Demonstrated strong safety background and focus on zero incidents in hazardous environments.
  • Located within reasonable distance from DAA facility.
  • Availability for 24/7 call‑in emergencies.

  • Prior supervisory experience.
