Lead Roller Operator

Hutch Paving Inc. located in Warren, MI is seeking an Asphalt Roller Operator. The person must perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites and will work with a paving crew laying asphalt on roads, subdivisions, parking lots, etc.

• Operate roller to compact earth, subgrade, and sub-base asphalt surfaces in the construction of parking lots and streets.
• Drive machine in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling asphalt and subgrade to desired compaction and smoothness.
• Determines speed and direction of machine based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures.
• Distribute, break down, compress and give a finished surface to cooling asphalt.
• Recognize flow lines and inverts.
• Try to minimize roller marks.

• Must have 2-5 years of experience operating the roller.
• The person must have reliable transportation.
• evaluate the equipment and confirm that the equipment from a mechanical and safety standpoint is ready to use.
• Distributes asphalt materials by raking.
