Job Description
Comstock Park is seeking candidates who display a strong desire and ability to make an impact on students and the greater community both within and outside of the classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree (preferred) - Michigan Teaching Certification (preferred)
- Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills with students, staff, parents, administration and community.
- Demonstrate effective leadership qualities.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good disciplinary skills.
- Dedication to building a successful program.
- Part and score arranging.
- Functional piano skills.
- Knowledge of teenager voice/vocal ranges.
- Ability to see potential in cast members and to push them past their potential.
- Assist director with show selection.
- Attend all auditions and assist in cast selection.
- Help with rehearsal schedule development.
- Direct all music rehearsals, solos, chorus, and band.
- Assist choreographer with music to be choreographed.
- Record or obtain a prerecorded rehearsal recording to be used by choreographer and drama director for rehearsals.
- Locate and acquire (within budget) musicians for rehearsals and performance.
- Assist director with "run throughs", "dress rehearsals".
- Warm up cast before performance and give notes after performance.
- Ability to hold students accountable within a given rehearsal schedule
This is an Edu Staff position.
The final candidate for this position will be required (at their cost) to furnish the district with a current Michigan State Police and FBI criminal records Live Scan check prior to our recommendation to hire.
