Collections Clerk

Universal Logistics is a leading provider of customized transportation and logistics solutions, offering a comprehensive suite of services including transportation, value-added, intermodal, and specialized services utilized throughout entire supply chains.

Ideal candidates will meet the following requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High school diploma required, college education preferred
• Customer service or office experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office; MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
• Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work independently

Responsibilities will include:

• Investigating customer discrepancies and working with various contacts to resolve the issues
• Telephone, email, and in person communication with various levels of internal employees from our field offices to executive management
• Understanding and analyzing shipping documents
• Research and problem resolution of customer invoice issues
• Learning and understanding industry requirements and changes
• Interaction with the customer via phone calls, email, web portals, and EDI connections

Nice to Have:

• 3-5 years of relevant office experience we prefer corporate collections if possible.
• Can work independently
• Likes problem solving and digging into issues and fixing the route cause
• Personable-more customer service then aggressive collections
• Comfortable interactive with executives of the company.
