A well-established health system in Jackson, Michigan is seeking a Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Rheumatologist to provide adult and geriatric care on a locum tenens basis. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of outpatient clinic work and hospital-based call, supported by a collaborative care team and modern resources.

This is an excellent assignment for a rheumatologist looking for strong compensation, flexible scheduling, and long‑term stability in a supportive clinical environment.

• Position: Locum Rheumatologist

• Location: Jackson, MI

• Pay Rate: Competitive rates + additional rates for 24 hr Call, Call back

• Start Date: ASAP (anticipated April start due to credentialing)

• Coverage Duration: Ongoing

  • 4 × 10‑hour shifts or 5 × 8‑hour shifts

• Call Requirement:

  • 24‑hour hospital call

  • Tuesday–Monday

  • 2 weeks per month (1:2 call rotation)

• Office‑based rheumatology clinic with hospital‑based call

• Patient Volume:

  • Clinic: 16–18 patients per day

  • Hospital: ~1 consult per day

• Procedures:

  • Joint aspirations

  • Corticosteroid injections

• EMR: Epic

• Trauma Level: Level II

• Support Staff: Dedicated MA, RN, and front‑desk team

• Group Size: 1 Rheumatologist + full support staff

• Board Certified in Rheumatology

• Fellowship‑trained in Rheumatology

• Active Michigan license

• BLS

• Ability to perform joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections

• Experience with Epic EMR (Preferred)

• Self‑Query NPDB (pulled within 30 days at time of presentation)

• Comprehensive malpractice coverage
