Position Summary
The Capernaum Regional Coordinator will develop new Capernaum ministries within a Young Life region, train, support, and encourage Capernaum staff, and facilitate the growth and depth of existing ministries.
Responsibilities- Spiritual Development:
Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development, including prayer, fellowship, and church relationships. - Leadership Development:
Recruit, assess, and train Capernaum staff; conduct interviews; supervise and vision‑cast; coordinate team building and training sessions. - Resource Development:
Raise support, manage a priority prospect list, implement financial policies, and communicate needs and successes to committees. - Direct Ministry:
Conduct contact work, lead clubs, campaigners, and camp activities; prepare for and facilitate inclusion and summer camp trips; provide summer staffing strategy. - Ministry Support:
Handle accounting, administration, communication, data management, and strategic planning; ensure timely paperwork, reimbursements, and software updates.
- Maintain commitment to spiritual growth and spiritual life of the Young Life community.
- Recruit, partner with, and support new and existing Capernaum staff.
- Present at community information meetings; assist new leaders with training and fundraising.
- Host and lead regular Capernaum staff meetings for training and support.
- Communicate with staff and regional directors regarding events, goals, and support.
- Lead committee efforts to recruit and sustain volunteers; publicize ministry needs.
- Coordinate finances, implement TDS procedures, and manage donor relations.
- Complete Mission wide Young Life Training (new staff, regional training days, Leadership I and II).
- Participate in Mission wide Capernaum Training and annual regional trainings.
- Attend area director staff retreats and host training opportunities for Capernaum staff and Young Life area directors.
- Encouraged to pursue continuing education or training seminars for professional growth.
- College degree preferred.
- Completion of Young Life Area Director School or equivalent training.
- Significant experience in starting, running, and maintaining a Capernaum ministry.
- Clear communication of the Gospel and ability to train others.
- High level of confidentiality about ministries and families.
- Understanding of issues affecting teenagers with disabilities and families.
- Ability to build relationships with adults, children, and the broader community.
- Research and presentation skills.
- Budget research, development, and management skills.
