SENIOR JROTC ARMY INSTRUCTOR
Salary: Negotiable based on experience
Reports To: Building Administrator
Qualifications- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be Cadet Command certified as a JROTC Instructor or in the process of obtaining certification (Department of Defense credential).
- Must be permanently retired as an officer/senior non-commissioned officer with at least 20 years of active duty.
- Must have served last year of active duty as an officer.
- Officers presently on active duty must be within 6 months of retirement with an approved retirement date.
- Must possess high standards of military bearing, appearance and moral character.
- Preference will be given to a Master’s degree, teaching experience, and experience working with youth groups.
- Provide a safe and supportive environment.
- Mentor, coach, and practice strategies to motivate cadets to learn and succeed in high school and in life.
- Attend meetings and aid in school functions reasonably necessary for the operation of the JROTC program and the School District.
- Establish and train competitive JROTC teams.
- Attend summer camp with cadets.
- Mentor and counsel cadets.
- Establish and run a summer training program for selected 8th grade students.
- Support the Non-Commissioned Instructors in yearly planning for the program.
- Support the Non-Commissioned Instructors in the care of and accountability for equipment.
- Relate to parents and other community members in a positive and helpful fashion.
- Know and utilize technology in the teaching and learning process.
- Implement conflict-resolution strategies for both adults and students.
- Use a variety of assessment techniques and/or models to evaluate student performance.
- Utilize data to improve student instruction.
- Complete all necessary CTE paperwork/requirements.
- Other duties in the area of JROTC as assigned by the Supervisor.
