SUMMARY
:

The Student Success Facilitator at Comstock Park High School is a student-centered professional dedicated to supporting at‑risk youth through a "whole child" approach. This role focuses on removing barriers to personal success by developing communication strategies, supporting time‑management skills, and prioritizing academic needs. It fosters accountability, goal setting, and emotional resilience. Serving as a critical bridge between students, administration, and support teams, the Facilitator balances proactive intervention with structured supervision, playing a key role in school safety, discipline transitions, and behavioral support frameworks.

This is an at‑risk funded position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with at‑risk students to co‑create, monitor, and achieve personal, behavioral, and academic goals.
  • Implement regular check‑ins to build self‑regulation, time‑management, and ownership of actions.
  • Identify and bridge gaps in students’ basic, emotional, or social needs in collaboration with counselors, social workers, and community resources.
  • Assist administration with disciplinary processes, focusing heavily on restorative practices and proactive intervention.
  • Design and facilitate structured re‑entry plans for students returning after suspensions, truancy, or alternative placements, ensuring long‑term stability.
  • Mediate student‑to‑student and student‑to‑staff conflicts using restorative justice models to repair relationships and maintain a positive climate.
  • Provide immediate, trauma‑informed de‑escalation support during behavioral crises.
  • Play a vital role in the MTSS framework, designing and executing Tier 2 (targeted) and Tier 3 (intensive) interventions.
  • Collect, track, and analyze behavioral, attendance, and disciplinary data to measure intervention efficacy and adjust strategies.
  • Support co‑curricular events to increase participation and access for at‑risk populations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree required (Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with at‑risk adolescents, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Intervention Knowledge: Proven knowledge of research related to student behavioral interventions, MTSS frameworks, and behavioral threat assessment practices.

    Collaboration:

    Experience planning and conducting professional development/training, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various groups and gain consensus related to program implementation.
  • Data Proficiency: Experience utilizing data‑based decision‑making systems to track and evaluate student progress.
  • Spanish‑speaking skills: Highly desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push items of 50 pounds such as moving or rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and peripheral vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is usually low to moderate to loud noise. The employee must work with the public and other workers. Duties are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors. The employee will wear clothing in accordance with building policy.
