Crossing Guard - Grade 3 FLSA:
Non-Exempt
Reports to:
Principal
Supports the school district in protecting students by ensuring that children arrive and depart the school grounds and adjoining streets in a safe manner while maintaining confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities- Supervises and monitors students as they cross streets and school grounds while walking to and from school.
- Stops traffic when necessary.
- Ensures that students comply with school rules and communicates with students to monitor behavior while crossing streets.
- Maintains a safe flow of traffic on and off school grounds where students are present.
- Must be on time at your job post.
- Communicates with community, staff, and students to answer questions, disseminate or explain information.

8:20am-9:20am & 3:20pm-4:20pm (2 hrs/day) - Pay: $15.44 per hour (Pay Grade
3)
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certifications, Licenses, or RegistrationsRequired to attend and be trained yearly by the Traffic Safety Association.
Experience- Experience working with children preferred.
- Knowledge of school policies and safety regulations, required.
- Good communication skills, required.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and community, required.
- Ability to read and interpret school policies and handbook, required.
- Ability to write simple routine reports, required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job duties, including but not limited to understanding and following safety instructions, responding appropriately to emergency situations, completing documentation, and interacting with English speaking staff, students, community and supervisors, required.
The employee is regularly required to use hands, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
