Responsibilities
  • Functions as the secondary source of instruction in the Aviation Maintenance Lab to support instruction provided by the instructor of record.
  • Assists students in completing lab projects by providing necessary instruction.
  • Provides evaluation of student performance as requested by the instructor of record.
  • Ensures that the lab/workshop is set‑up and prepared with all required tools and materials for the assigned class and planned instruction.
  • Coordinates the maintenance of supplies, tools, equipment and facilities.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned in connection with the overall operation of the Aviation Maintenance Program.
  • Must effectively communicate and demonstrate knowledge of specific technical skills in the lab to a diverse student population.
  • Must collaborate with students and peers to establish a safe environment where safety is not compromised.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of airframe, engine and general aviation topics.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in a related field OR High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years relevant industry experience.
  • Federal Aviation Administration Certified Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic license.
