About the Role
As an Area Lead for Edge Kids, you will guide and train the Edge Kids program, ensuring high standards in every class and supporting staff and members.
Responsibilities- Move, groove and have fun utilizing our exciting program of activities.
- Provide outstanding member experience and customer service.
- Smile and help others smile.
- Love kids and help them feel proud of their efforts.
- Help co‑workers go from good to great.
- Collaborate with GMs and Area Directors to execute Edge Kids to high standards.
- Teach 60% of the time and dedicate balance to day‑to‑day operations, building a top‑notch team.
- Communicate Edge Kids philosophy and program to parents clearly and professionally.
- Train all new hires for the company, both in Edge Kids and the club.
- Run high‑energy kid’s activities that are fun.
- Perform other administrative duties not listed here.
- Support and articulate Edge Kids mission.
- Adhere to Edge Kids policies and procedures.
- Greet parents and check in children in a professional and friendly manner.
- Engage and instruct children in age‑appropriate games and activities.
- Support fellow staff in all areas of the Edge Fitness Clubs.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Be comfortable with children ages 12 weeks through 12 years.
- Keep the room neat, clean, and sanitary.
- Work within clubs and community outreach events.
- Work split shifts and occasional weekend days as required.
- Interview staff with understanding of Edge Kids standards.
- Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Coach and train staff.
- Full‑time availability.
- Flexible hours; some nights and weekends required.
- Roll‑up‑the‑sleeves mentality.
- Passion for working with kids.
- Positive and enthusiastic.
- Committed to training and ongoing development of team.
- Excellent class management skills.
- Good work ethic; reliable, on time, and dependable.
- Pass background check.
- History of leadership and people management of functional teams with proven success.
- Desired: experience in youth programming and exercise science.
- Required:
experience in working with children.
- CRP certified – plus.
- First Aid certified – plus.
- Epi Pen certified – plus.
- Bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, balancing.
- Aerobic activity and sustained physical exertion.
- High energy and ability to lift 50 pounds.
The role operates in a child‑care environment in a health club where administrative work may be necessary. The position interacts with children, Edge coaches, supervisors, and members daily.
TravelSome travel locally to other clubs or corporate meetings may be required.
Position Type & HoursPart‑time, non‑exempt. Hours vary based on business needs. Occasional evening, weekend, and split‑shift work will be required.
Supervisory ResponsibilityReports to General Manager and oversees program standards, teaching 60% of time and administrative duties.
