Warren Consolidated Schools is seeking applicants for the following position for the school year.
Location:
Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center (MMSTC)
1.0 FTE
Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) is a project-based course that integrates mathematics, science, technology, engineering, and research. Students apply classroom learning through scientific research, data analysis, computer science, engineering design, robotics, computer-aided design (CAD), manufacturing, and multimedia presentations. Students may utilize laboratory and shop facilities to design, prototype, and fabricate projects. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation, collaboration, and the real-world application of STEM concepts.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a secondary endorsement in grades 9-12 required
- Mathematics or Science endorsement preferred
- Collaborative member of the MMSTC team that coordinates, designs and evaluates curriculum and programs for the MMSTC as well as seeks out grant funding, attend professional learning seminars, and current with best practices in teaching and learning
- Collaborative member of the MMSTC team that seamlessly integrates technology into content areas (Mathematics, Science and Language Arts) through hands-on projects and higher-level learning outcomes
