Job Summary
Lincoln Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Science and Intervention Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and enhancing student achievement through innovative teaching practices and targeted intervention strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science education and a proven track record of supporting diverse learners in a middle school setting.
The position is half day teaching science and half day teaching intervention classes.
- Develop and implement engaging science curriculum aligned with state standards and school objectives.
- Design and deliver targeted interventions for students struggling in core subjects.
- Assess student progress through various evaluation methods, including formative and summative assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment that promotes academic success for all students.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and intervention strategies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and science content.
- Support the development of students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry skills through hands-on experiments and projects.
- Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, exploration, and respect for scientific inquiry.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and interventions, providing data-driven insights to inform instructional practices.
- Engage in school-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Secondary Education, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Valid teaching certification in Science for middle school (grades 6-8).
- Experience teaching science in a middle school setting, with a focus on intervention strategies.
- Strong knowledge of science content and best practices for diverse learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with special needs.
- Proficient in using technology and educational tools to enhance learning and assessment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Commitment to professional growth and collaboration within a team-oriented environment.
