Must Haves:- Active Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification
- Experience with MIG welding (primary process)
- Exposure to spot welding
- Experience with Teamcenter and/or NX for weld process development
- Familiarity with FANUC robotics or FANUC controls
- Defense industry experience
- ITAR understanding/compliance background
- Active or previous security clearance
- Hands‑on robot programming experience (FANUC preferred)
The Certified Weld Inspector will support GM Defense welding operations by ensuring weld quality, regulatory compliance, and consistent process control across MIG and spot welding applications. They will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and automation teams.
Daily Tasks Include:- Weld Inspection & Quality Control
- Perform visual and measurement‑based weld inspections per CWI standards
- Document findings, non‑conformances, and rework actions
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes (AWS, internal specs)
- Weld Process Development
- Develop and validate weld process parameters
- Use Teamcenter / NX for documentation, modeling, or parameter configuration
- Work with engineering to refine weld sequences and quality criteria
- Robotic Welding Support
- Support and troubleshoot FANUC robotic welding stations
- Adjust robot weld paths and parameters (no full programming required but familiarity preferred)
- Interface with FANUC controls for diagnostics
- Welding Operations Support
- Oversee MIG welding operations (primary process)
- Occasional involvement in spot welding setups
- Support production teams with weld‑related issues and root‑cause analysis
- Supporting team across other functions when welding work is slow
- Will work onsite at PPO
- Direct collaboration with:
- Hiring Manager
- Manufacturing engineering
- Robotics/automation teams
- Quality engineering
- Team size not specified — likely small, specialized group

$50/hr to $55/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
