Job Responsibilities:
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Materials Planning Intern at Magna AIM Systems, you will play a vital role in supporting materials planning, data management and supplier communication. This internship provides hands-on experience in logistics operations, KPI reporting and packaging data collection within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The role offers valuable exposure to supply chain coordination, data analytics and process improvement activities that drive efficiency across the plant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist in the development and expansion of the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to improve material flow and inventory accuracy.
* Collect and organize material, packaging and supplier data to support PFEP and logistics planning.
* Maintain accurate information related to part routing, container sizes and delivery frequencies.
* Support enhancement to existing Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data reporting for logistics and materials performance.
* Conduct data collection from suppliers, including updates to contact information and packaging's geometry details.
* Participate in logistic improvement projects focused on optimizing material flow, packaging utilization and data accuracy.
* Assist in updating and maintaining documentation for logistics procedures and work instructions,
* Work cross-functionally with Materials, Purchasing and Production teams to support supply chain efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Strong analytical and organizational skills with a focus on data accuracy.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collectively within a team environment.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Engineering, Business or a related field.
* Coursework or project experience in materials management, logistics planning or data analysis preferred.
* Familiarity with manufacturing or automotive environments is an asset.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE /
SKILLS:
* Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Basic understanding of PFEP, KPI metrics and supply chain processes.
* Exposure to ERP Systems preferred.
* Knowledge of packaging data, inventory control or supplier communication processes beneficial.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in reporting and documentation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
* Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
