This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. ADO comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.
HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision‑making.
Job DescriptionHII Mission Technologies seeks a Water Treatment Technician to support the U.S. Army's Ground Vehicle Systems Center. The role involves testing, evaluation, and routine maintenance of mobile fresh water treatment systems to ensure operational readiness and potable water quality.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup, calibration, operation, and tear‑down of mobile water treatment systems during testing phases.
- Collect water samples and perform basic chemical and physical analysis (e.g., pH, turbidity, chlorine residual, total dissolved solids) under supervision.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on pumps, reverse osmosis membranes, multimedia filters, hoses and generators associated with the water treatment units.
- Record operational metrics (pressure, flow rates), test results, and maintenance actions accurately into facility logs and digital databases.
- Adhere to all facility safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures during testing evolutions.
- Associate’s Degree or related 2‑year technical degree and 0 years experience, or High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years related experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with standard hand tools.
- Ability to read and follow detailed technical manuals and test plans.
- Must be able to attain a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance (must be a U.S. Citizen).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, kneeling, and standing on concrete or uneven terrain possible.
- Work performed both indoors and outdoor, in laboratory/warehouse settings and in varying weather during mobile system field testing.
