Job Description The Role
Join us as a Senior Technical Specialist focused on Hardware and Software integration for the SDV 2.0 Aggregator supporting the Ultifi platform. In this key position, you will plan, lead, and implement SDV 2.0 hardware‑software solutions as a product. You will guide both internal teams and external suppliers, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to navigate complex challenges. Your expertise will help to create and promote strategic software and systems solutions that drive our essential business initiatives.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Act as the system architecture liaison between the Aggregator hardware design team and GM software teams, overseeing the execution of production.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the SDV 2.0 Aggregator Hardware Product and Mechatronics Software Architecture, leading the development and release of software content in line with program timelines.
- Interpret requirements for both Aggregator and Extender software content throughout all project phases (Design, Validation, and key program deliverables).
- Lead the definition of software architecture and ensure RASIC alignment between the Aggregator hardware, GM software teams, and delivery schedules.
- Oversee HSIS activities associated with Aggregator hardware.
- Support troubleshooting for hardware/software integration at GM internal labs and external locations to resolve issues effectively.
- Develop and coordinate comprehensive software timing plans that meet all program requirements and milestones.
- Assist in maintaining software functional component specifications.
- Participate actively in Product Development Team meetings to integrate products into vehicles.
- Represent Aggregator and Extender components in Vehicle Program Team and management reviews as required.
- Author and authorize Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for software releases.
- Proactively address and resolve software issues, escalating them to leadership as necessary.
- Collaborate on sourcing activities for software and infrastructure components with the Purchasing team.
- Support integration and performance testing activities.
- Coordinate the development and testing of diagnostics for Aggregator/Extender functionalities.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience with microprocessor-based controllers for automotive electrical systems.
- Understanding of software development processes, hardware/software co-design, and verification/validation methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills to tackle complex systems and technical challenges.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Proven program management abilities with the talent to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence across various functions and manage conflicts effectively.
- Hands‑on experience in developing real‑time control software using C/C++, Java, Assembly, and modern scripting languages (Python, etc.).
- Familiarity with operating systems (Unix, Linux, RTOS) and instrumentation tools (INCA, dSPACE).
- Experience with configuration management systems (Git) and Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins).
- Master's degree in Hardware, Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering.
- Knowledge of automotive product release and specification processes.
- Understanding of microcontroller architectures and related memory technologies.
- Familiarity with vehicle serial data communications (e.g., Ethernet, CAN, LIN).
- Ability to write and interpret software and hardware requirements proficiently.
- Solid understanding of software verification and validation processes.
- Experience with DFMEAs and DFSS methodologies is a plus.
This hybrid role requires reporting to a specified location at least three times a week. Relocation benefits may be available.
