Controls Engineer

Talascend is currently seeking a Controls Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Warren, Michigan.

Overview

The controls engineer will be responsible for the design, construction, integration, and ongoing support of electrical controls systems in a manufacturing environment. They will manage project milestones, troubleshoot existing systems, and support the successful launch of new equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure alignment to project timelines and milestones
• Manage deliveries to program milestones
• Provide project report outs to senior management
• Support existing program and site operations, including troubleshooting
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with customers and plant teams
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced controls engineers
• Design and troubleshoot electrical control systems
• Develop and test advanced process technologies
• Travel as needed to support equipment startups and new program implementations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree not required but a minimum of 5 years of experience required
• Controls manufacturing experience
• Hands-on technical experience with PLCs, HMIs, and networks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automation and control architectures
• Knowledge of advanced control systems and robotics
