Controls Systems Engineer

Talascend is currently seeking a Controls Engineer for an opportunity in Warren, Michigan.

Overview

Ensure alignment to a controls engineer role focused on designing, developing, and optimizing automation and control systems within the automotive manufacturing environment. The role involves working on diverse automation projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to launch new programs, and supporting manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize automation and control systems for automotive manufacturing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new program launches and integrate advanced technologies.
• Utilize PLC/HMI programming, robotics, and industrial automation to improve system reliability, safety, and efficiency.
• Work on diverse automation projects, troubleshooting, testing, and debugging systems.
• Travel to plant sites and suppliers as needed for equipment buy-offs.
• Contribute to improving safety, reliability, and production efficiency on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in electrical engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience required.
• Experience with HMI and PLC programming projects.
• Automotive background and in-plant experience are a plus.
• Strong teamwork, technical programming skills, and proactive initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics integration.
• Knowledge of industrial automation standards and practices.
