This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to Karn Weadock in Essexville, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
Job Responsibilities
The Senior Program Engineer is responsible for overseeing the engineering and technical disciplines required to successfully complete projects. This role includes planning projects, establishing project criteria, coordinating project reviews, and ensuring the proper implementation of all project elements. The incumbent will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality from conception through completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Support an Agile project delivery cadence by balancing team performance with tight deadlines.
- Develop specifications for required project equipment.
- Monitor compliance with applicable codes, regulations, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Evaluate engineering tasks and implement necessary corrective measures.
- Provide technical support and assistance to project managers and other project stakeholders.
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects.
- Assign responsibilities and mentor project team members.
- Build strong partnerships with stakeholders and develop a deep understanding of their business objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in design and visualization software such as AutoCAD.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
- Familiarity with industry rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program with four (4) or more years of experience in a program engineer capacity
- [OR] Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a non‑ABET accredited program plus a Professional Engineering license with four (4) or more years of experience in a program engineer capacity
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Mechanical background, e.g., piping, fluid flow, vibration, thermodynamics, etc.
