PCB Design Engineer Description
- Responsible for creating and designing the physical layout of integrated circuits (ICs) or printed circuit boards (PCBs), including placing and routing components, traces, and other elements to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Create, lead, and verify the layout design by conducting design rule checks (DRC) and design for manufacturability (DFM) checks to ensure compliance with specifications, constraints, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with circuit designers, system engineers, and packaging engineers to understand design requirements and constraints and optimize layout for performance, power, area, and manufacturability.
- Select the appropriate technology and fabrication process based on project requirements, target applications, performance goals, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Optimize layout design in coordination with SI/PI/EMC/Thermal/Mechanical subject‑matter experts to meet performance and reliability criteria.
- Support ECAD librarians by ensuring ECAD library parts meet PCBA Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and GM resiliency requirements.
- Collaborate with component engineers, procurement, and supply‑chain teams to select appropriate components for PCBA design.
- Apply Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize PCBA design for efficient assembly processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and quality enhancement in PCBA manufacturing.

This is a contract position based in Warren, MI.
Pay And BenefitsHourly pay range: $45.00 – $60.00 per hour.
