Position: EPS (Electric Power Steering) System Architect

Client need candidates with hands‑on experience with EPS (Electric Power Steering) actuators who also possess Architect‑level capabilities.
The Steering Wheel Domain Expert is responsible for the end‑to‑end systems architecture, engineering development, and vehicle integration of next‑generation steering wheels. You will oversee the integration of structural rims, switches, hands‑on detection (HOD) sensors, heating arrays, and critical driver airbag (DAB) restraint deployment. This cross‑functional role ensures that steering wheel assemblies align perfectly with vehicle architecture, advanced safety expectations, and electrical communication protocols.
SystemsArchitecture
Define system‑level boundaries, block diagrams, and vehicle interface definitions for the complete steering wheel subsystem.
Requirement CascadingAuthor, manage, and trace engineering requirements for sub‑components (switches, heaters, sensors, airbags) within tools like IBM DOORS.
Safety IntegrationCollaborate directly with Virtual Design, Development, and Validation (VDDV) teams to ensure crash safety, impact protection, and optimal driver airbag deployment constraints are met.
Required TechnicalSkills & Qualifications
- Education
:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or Automotive Engineering. - Domain Experience
:
Minimum of 10–15 years of deep expertise in System Engineering, automotive chassis electronics, steering systems, or integrated steering wheel and restraint hardware. - Tooling Proficiency
:
Demonstrated experience utilizing network testing systems (e.g., Vector CANoe, CANape, or Vehicle Spy) and 3D packaging tools (UG NX).
