Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an experienced Implementation Engineer (Automation Project Manager).
This individual will oversee projects from concept through installation and customer buyoff, while managing cross-functional teams, supplier relationships, project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables. The ideal candidate brings expertise in automation systems, tooling, procurement, supply chain management, and customer-facing program leadership.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead automation and tooling programs through project kick-off, design, manufacturing, commissioning, installation, and customer acceptance.
- Manage project scope, timing, budget, quality objectives, and risk mitigation plans to ensure successful execution of manufacturing and automation projects.
- Coordinate activities across engineering, controls, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, installation teams, and customer stakeholders to achieve program milestones.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, cost forecasts, resource plans, and status reports for executive leadership and customers.
- Support procurement and sourcing activities for automation equipment, robotics, conveyors, gantries, EOAT tooling, vision systems, contract labor, and engineering services.
- Drive supplier performance, contract negotiations, RFQ management, and vendor relationship strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
- Monitor project financial performance, including budget tracking, change management, invoicing milestones, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Lead customer communication regarding project status, commercial discussions, technical reviews, scope changes, and issue resolution.
- Support launch and installation activities at customer manufacturing facilities while coordinating technical and operational resources to meet production objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, project execution, reporting, and supply chain optimization.
Compensation: $45/hr to $53/hr exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience managing automation, tooling, manufacturing, or capital equipment projects within automotive or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, body-in-white manufacturing, assembly processes, robotics integration, and manufacturing equipment procurement.
- Experience working with OEM customers such as Ford, General Motors, Stellantis, or similar manufacturing organizations.
- Proven success managing suppliers, RFQs, contract negotiations, purchasing activities, and project financials.
- Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel, AutoCAD, and ERP systems.
