Accounting Manager

A great UHY client is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger and financial reporting experience, prior team leadership experience, and a solid understanding of GAAP.

The Accounting Manager role is an onsite position. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain the organization’s general ledger, tracking assets, liabilities, expenses, and revenues.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate financial reports and statements.
• Develop and document accounting policies and business processes to strengthen internal controls.
• Liaise with external auditors during financial and operational audits.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff, providing training and leadership.
• Support tax filings and coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making and organizational growth.
• Assist with implementing accounting systems and improving financial procedures.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Administer departmental procedures, evaluate performance, and support budget and strategic planning initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
• Experience with accounting software such as Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, or Oracle.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting concepts and the ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, direct, and develop a team.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to identify issues, conduct research, and implement effective solutions.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
