Financial Analyst

Talascend is currently seeking a Financial Analyst for a contract opportunity with our client in Warren, Michigan. Overview

The financial analyst role supports the process validation and improvement team by providing financial analysis and support to identify contract errors and recovery opportunities, ensuring supplier over payment issues are addressed efficiently and effectively.

• Analyze contracts to identify contract errors and recovery opportunities
• Deliver high-quality audit results to communicate the contract issues to purchasing
• Work with key stakeholders to review audit results and agree on recovery approach
• Support purchasing in negotiations with suppliers
• Drive timely closure of open audits and recovery of over payments
• Meet targets on key metrics including contract touch rate, study aging, and cost recoveries
• Perform special studies as requested by stakeholders
• Review contract reports to identify saving opportunities
• Provide financial analysis and support using GM global systems to determine causes of pricing errors
• Analyze ad-hoc reports and interface with various levels within GM to review cases and discrepancies
• Drive closure of open cases and collection of over payments within stipulated time frame
• Identify and collect at least $4 million in annual supplier cost recoveries

• Experience with financial analysis and support in a similar role
• Strong analytical skills, including arithmetic, logic, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to analyze contracts and identify errors and recovery opportunities
• Proficiency with global systems or similar financial tools
