Financial Reporting, Financial Manager
A leader in the design and manufacturing of thermal processing equipment and environmental testing solutions is seeking a Site Controller to support its operations in Michigan. This organization serves a wide range of industries including aerospace, defense, electronics, medical, and energy, providing highly engineered equipment and testing systems. This position plays a key role in overseeing financial operations at the site level, driving performance, and supporting strategic decision‑making.
This role is responsible for managing financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities for a manufacturing facility, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across accounting and finance functions. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.
- Lead month‑end close processes, including journal entries, financial statement preparation, and overall site financial oversight
- Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting
- Analyze site‑level financial performance, including margins, and present findings to leadership
- Evaluate operating results, identify trends, and recommend strategies to improve profitability
- Develop and support budgets, forecasts, and long‑term financial plans
- Partner with site leadership to assess capital expenditure needs and assist in business planning
- Utilize ERP systems (BPCS/AS400) to improve reporting capabilities and streamline financial processes
- Interpret and apply corporate financial policies and accounting standards
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to gather data, analyze financial impacts, and support decision‑making
- Support corporate finance initiatives including budgeting and reporting requirements
- Oversee expense management processes and ensure proper controls are in place
- Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend appropriate payment terms
- Prepare and support reporting related to audits, cash flow, A/R insurance, tax filings, and other financial requirements
- Perform additional financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliation activities as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably BPCS/AS400
- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
- CPA or CMA designation preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to various stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff is a plus
