A great UHY client is seeking a Financial Analyst – Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing cost accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and a strong understanding of inventory and standard costing.
The Financial Analyst – Manufacturing role is an onsite position. This is a direct hire position.
- Partner with Master Data Management to ensure accuracy of standard cost components, including bill of materials and labor.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations between manufacturing and financial systems, investigate variances, and support inventory adjustment entries.
- Conduct inventory analysis, including excess and obsolete inventory reviews, and prepare related reserve entries.
- Monitor cycle count programs and analyze root causes of inventory discrepancies and disposals.
- Support physical inventory counts and related reconciliations.
- Monitor plant KPIs, including labor efficiency, productivity, cost performance, and inventory levels.
- Prepare and analyze monthly cost variance reports, including actual versus standard cost analysis.
- Partner with plant management to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations to improve operational and financial performance.
- Partner with Corporate Finance and Shared Services to support an accurate and timely month-end close.
- Analyze customer accounts receivable deductions against contracts and agreements and ensure recoverable costs are appropriately reimbursed.
- Prepare monthly manufacturing financial review materials for senior leadership.
- Support new product pricing and customer RFQs by developing cost models and evaluating margin expectations.
- Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities with plant management, track implementation, and validate realized savings.
- Assist with manufacturing plant budgets and forecasts.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of progressive cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles, including inventory valuation and standard costing.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis, and financial modeling.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Commercial, Operations, Finance, Plant Management, and senior leadership.
- Ability to identify financial and operational issues and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
