Job Overview
The Acupuncturist is responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of acupuncture therapy for a range of conditions including addiction, stroke rehabilitation, musculoskeletal issues, women’s issues, stress management, and digestive issues. Additional applications include headache, migraine, respiratory issues, and arthritis.
EssentialJob Duties / Responsibilities
- Discuss possible drug‑herb interactions with doctors and patients (patients may take herbal medicines on their own).
- Provide patient education on lifestyle changes, exercises, stretches, meditation, and Tai Chi (demonstration and referral to Tai Chi classes).
- Incorporate Manual Therapy (TUI NA‑Chinese Remedial Massage).
- Diagnose and discuss treatment plans with patients.
- Build solid relationships with patients by providing excellent experience.
- Complete progress notes for patient treatments.
- Safeguard client confidentiality.
- Follow clinical hygiene rules.
- Practice clean needle technique.
- Maintain professional appearance for self and therapy room.
- Follow up on license renewals.
- Seek ongoing education.
- Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary team to perform assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Coordinate with mental health therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, dietitians, wellness coaches, chiropractors, massage therapists, professional organizers, and educators to provide appropriate patient treatment.
- Organize community education workshops at the facility.
- Contribute field‑related tips for the facility newsletter and community blog.
- Perform other duties as assigned or modified at manager’s discretion.
- Interview and qualify new hires for Acupuncture Physicians for Chen Med and Jen Care.
- Train new Acupuncturists (shadowing only for Chen Med Florida Market).
- Conduct professional and ethical client relationships.
- Establish empathy and a person‑centered approach to clients.
- Recognize own limitations and respond to difficult situations.
- Work self‑motivated and independently.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills with team members and clients.
- Demonstrate strong dedication to wellness and lifestyle.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related field.
- Certifications from the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
- Board certification in a specialty.
- Licensed in the state of practice.
$76,732 - $109,617 salary. The posted pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for this position. Final compensation will depend on various factors including experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. The position may also be eligible for bonuses or commissions.
