Position: Medical Assistant & Front Desk — Part-Time to Full-Time

This is a Medical Assistant and Receptionist/Administrative Assistant position at our growing mental health practice. This includes the routine work of medical assistants that may involve prescription management, EHR work, workflow and pre-authorization management, as well as the work of greeting, managing patient calls, and handling routine administrative tasks. This is a part-time position with the goal of rapidly expanding to full-time if/when the employee is able to take on greater responsibilities

A desire to become an integral part of the team as the practice continues to expand, and an interest in mental healthcare are desirable for our long-term goals.

Responsibilities
  • Greet, welcome patients, and routine customer support
  • Complete basic patient intake
  • Prescription management and follow-up calls
  • Management of pre-authorization
  • Collaborate closely with medical staff
  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a professional and timely manner
  • Manage routine scheduling needs of patients and providers
  • Provide administrative support to the treatment team in a timely fashion
  • Maintain accurate records of protected health information
  • Prepare and edit documents, presentations, letters, and proofread reports
  • Schedule and set up routine online tests and surveys (training provided)
  • Manage and secure office supplies
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Practice Director
Mandatory Skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Fluency in Google Suite and Email Interface
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow directions efficiently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills
  • Positive and calming disposition in the face of what can be a stressful environment
  • Clear understanding of workplace hierarchy
  • Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA and managing patient privacy
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records
  • Familiarity or experience in healthcare settings
  • Ability to manage Facebook and Instagram would be an added value to the practice
