Part‑Time Outpatient Therapist

Newaygo County Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part‑Time Outpatient Therapist to provide high-quality mental health services to adults and children, 2–4 days per week. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community.

Position Summary

The Outpatient Therapist will provide assessment and psychotherapy services in an office-based setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals affected by trauma, mental health conditions, and co‑occurring substance use disorders. Experience working with youth and familiarity with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Substance Use Disorder are preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and family assessments and therapy sessions.
  • Develop and implement person‑centered treatment plans.
  • Utilize evidence‑based practices and therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
  • Support clients in identifying barriers and developing strategies for success.
  • Use de‑escalation and crisis intervention techniques when appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling (MSW, MA) required.
  • Licensure: LLPC, LPC, LLMSW, LMSW, or LLP with appropriate State of Michigan licensure.
  • Preferred: CAADC or Development Plan candidate.
  • Experience:

    Working with youth, individuals with co‑occurring disorders, and trauma‑informed care approaches.
  • Skills:

    Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities; proficient computer skills.
  • Other Requirements:
    Valid Michigan driver’s license.
Schedule & Compensation
  • Status:
    Part‑time (up to 32 hours per week).
  • Schedule:

    Flexible schedule; ability to work varying days of the week preferred.
  • Compensation: $75–$115 per session.
  • Benefits:
    Health insurance available after 90 days of employment (pro‑rated for staff maintaining 300 hours per quarter).
  • Additional: NHSC‑qualified site;
