Villa at City Center is seeking a Medical Records Coordinator to join their team! The Medical Records Coordinator is responsible for medical records through preparation, compilation, analysis, maintenance and filing. Maintains a well-organized system of closed and open medical records so that records are available to interdisciplinary personnel as need for resident care and other authorized facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assemble admissions records and files, including electronically.
  • Retrieve records for use by administrative or interdisciplinary personnel for resident care, quality improvement, incident tracking and investigation and other authorized purposes.
  • Process and monitor completion of physician telephone orders to authorize administration of medication, treatments, therapies, and other services.
  • Comply with federal and state laws concerning the release of information from medical records.
  • Print and/or copy information as requested form authorized persons.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information in the medical record.
  • Audit charts for completeness.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
Medical Records Coordinator

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding, and indexing is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure.
Medical Records Coordinator

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At leat one year of experience in a relevant role preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
