About GM Defense: GM Defense is driving the future of military mobility by leveraging the best in class capabilities of General Motors for unmatched innovation, proven performance, and breakthrough life cycle economics. We deliver reliable, affordable, and innovative products across a full spectrum of capabilities including integrated vehicles, electrification, autonomy, robotics, and security.

The Role: GM Defense (GMD) is a dynamic growth business within General Motors. Within GMD, the Integrated Product Support (IPS) organization ensures our customers receive world class aftermarket support. The Service and Sustainment Engineering Operations (SSEO) organization, which includes Service Engineering, Technical Publications, and Field Service Representative teams, is accountable for service deliverable readiness across every GMD vehicle worldwide, spanning service part release, technical manuals, RPSTL and EPC, diagnostic software, service programming, and design for serviceability inputs.

We are hiring a Service Engineering and Operations Data Lead to own the tools, data, and processes that underpin IPS service engineering and technical publications. You will be the primary business owner and integrator for systems, data sets, and dashboards that connect engineering, publishing, field support, and leadership, ensuring IPS has a single source of truth and reliable analytics for decision making.

You will blend process and systems design, data and analytics, and change enablement. You will own how IPS uses data and tools to run its business, partner closely with enterprise tool owners, and lead cross functional initiatives that improve service readiness, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. As a senior individual contributor, this role is expected to exercise independent judgment on significant matters, solve broad and non-standard problems with limited precedent, and lead through influence across IPS, SSEO, and partner organizations.

The role requires deep knowledge of core IPS service deliverables and broad knowledge of related upstream and downstream functions in order to drive alignment, standardization, and measurable operational improvement.

What You Will Do
  • Own IPS data and systems:
Define, curate, and maintain core IPS data sets related to service parts, technical publications, diagnostics, provisioning, and field performance across relevant systems and tools. Maintain a single source of truth, including documentation, data dictionaries, and governance standards. Own and build an application roadmap for IPS systems. Establish and maintain common definitions, ownership models, and process controls that improve trust in data and consistency of decision making across the function.
  • Serve as business owner for analytics:
Act as the business owner for key IPS reporting and analytics solutions, partnering with IT, data teams, and tool owners to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, test changes, and ensure data quality and availability. Use independent judgment to set priorities, define business requirements, and guide changes that materially improve IPS execution and decision support.
  • Design reporting and dashboards:
Design, build, and maintain standard reports, scorecards, and dashboards for IPS leadership, SSEO, Technical Publications, and program teams on topics such as service readiness, change throughput, quality, cycle time, and workload. Create executive ready views that synthesize key messages and tradeoffs for senior stakeholders.
  • Generate insights and recommendations:
Mine IPS and program data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities related to service deliverable readiness, late changes, rework, escapes, and field performance. Translate data into clear stories and recommendations that guide decisions. Identify and solve ambiguous, non-standard issues across systems, processes, and data where root causes and solutions are not predefined.
  • Develop IPS processes and tool use:
