Position: OpenShift Sales Specialist – Michigan/Great Lakes Region

About The Role

We are looking for a strategic dealmaker with a developer mindset to work across Red Hat’s Open Shift team. The role involves deep conversations on technology and architecture, and then crafting a comprehensive solution and proposal for enterprise customers across cloud‑native, hybrid cloud, VM‑to‑container migration, AI app, and edge computing.

What You’ll Do
  • Earn trust with developers: engage engineering and platform teams at a peer level, understanding their challenges and tool chains.
  • Probe for needs: consult customers daily to surface business drivers and technical pain points, linking them to Red Hat solutions.
  • Own the sales cycle: lead sales campaigns from discovery and technical qualification through validation and secure the technical win, including procurement when required.
  • Translate technical solutions into business value for executives while remaining credible with developers, architects, and engineering leads.
  • Champion cloud‑native transformation for customers, guiding them through rapid app modernization and migration to cloud.
  • Build and execute strategy: partner with account teams to develop territory plans, identify whitespace, and position Open Shift as the platform of choice.
What We’re Looking For
  • Developer‑adjacent seller: 7+ years in enterprise software, cloud, or technology sales with technical depth to be accepted by app teams.
  • Code‑to‑boardroom skills: able to white‑board Kubernetes/hybrid‑cloud architecture with a platform team and present a modernization business case to a CTO in a day.
  • Platform evangelist: working knowledge of Kubernetes, Open Shift, and the cloud‑native ecosystem, and passion for open source.
  • Consultative nature: skilled at asking the right questions to uncover real customer needs.
  • Executive presence: strong presentation and storytelling skills for both technical and business audiences.
  • Collaborative and accountable: proven track record of working across matrixed teams and owning pipeline, quota, and customer outcomes.
