Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Position Summary
Provides leadership for Quality Systems. Responsible for advanced quality planning, supplier quality assurance, testing laboratories, customer complaints, product submission, and the implementation of lean techniques. Supervises personnel who have continuous interactions with customers and product design. Takes a leadership role in ISO 9001/2000, ISO
17025 and TS16949 compliance. Directs, implements, and maintains operational-level strategies and objectives and monitors performance against plan. Manages, monitors, and controls material, labor, and overhead costs in respective area. Develops, reviews, and maintains budgets and expenses for the department. Maintains an appropriate level of staff support necessary to meet business goals and objectives. As a member of the Operations Team, actively leads and influences efforts to improve product quality and process capability.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Works with customers and EHS to reduce hazards associated with components and assembly operations of their parts. Ensures all employees receive necessary training, comply with safety rules, and corrective actions are issued when needed.
- Provides leadership and direction for all members involved in Quality Systems support and coordinates the team’s efforts with other support areas.
- Directs, implements, and maintains operational-level strategies and objectives. Develops short- to moderate-term goals and translates them into short-term plans to support operational goals and objectives. Monitors performance against plan and ensures that goals are met.
- Maintains contact with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and support resources to ensure that Quality Assurance systems are meeting objectives and continuously improving.
- Manages, monitors, and controls material, labor, and overhead costs in the respective area. Develops, reviews, and maintains budgets and expenses for the department.
- Maintains an appropriate level of staff support necessary to meet business goals and objectives. Monitors productivity of groups and individuals and recommends changes where desirable. Provides leadership and support to staff to assist employees with skill development. Develops a team-based organization focused on goals and objectives.
- Leads the effort to internalize quality systems that meet or exceed ISO 9001/2000, ISO 17025, and TS 16949 standards.
- Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Ensures that facilities are fully compliant with all safety regulations.
- Promotes and reviews programs related to safety, quality, and productivity in the division and recommends changes where desirable. Performs regular workplace inspections and monitors compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical science, or quality control.
- Five years of diverse professional and managerial experience, including financial/budget responsibility, management leadership, and strategic decision making and leadership in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated employee relationship and management skills to develop, lead, support, and motivate a cohesive, world-class quality assurance team.
- Strong communication skills to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization. Able to represent the company in a professional manner with customers and suppliers.
