Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician will perform all Food Safety and Quality tasks such as performing and recording results from all production and packing lines for regulatory compliance, HACCP, GMPs, weights and defects, and aiding in the education of plant employees in the practices of producing safe edible food. They also inform the FSQA Supervisor or Manager of all out of compliance materials and conditions in the facility, contain all non-conforming products and materials, and isolate and hold all substandard ingredients and finished goods.

- Conduct finished product inspections for each item
- Uphold all food safety standards
- Continuously check product specifications as items run
- Get final counts for finished product and sign off on pallet sheets
- Print finished product labels for packing
- Check in bulk ingredients for specified information
- Monitor all aspects of the Allergen Program
- Monitor and document changeover cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Ensure GMP guidelines with production associates, completing daily GMP reports
- Verify chemical concentrations
- Change printer labels and ribbon as needed
- Complete end shift clean-up tasks
- Other duties as assigned
- Associates degree or higher in a science-related field or one year minimum experience in manufacturing or holding a Food Safety position for one year required
- MS Excel and Word proficiency
- Knowledge of SSOPs, SOPs, familiarity with FDA or MDARD a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail oriented with excellent follow-up skills
- Manage multiple priorities
- Skills to complete paperwork legibly
- Good math and organizational skills
- Good problem identification and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret product specifications
- Function well under stress
- Flexibility to work where and when needed
