Process & General Operator

Location:

• Complete secondary processes in a team environment.
• Adhere to process and quality requirements to meet company milestones and targets.
• Responsible for secondary operations of machine details per production schedule focusing on quality, cost and schedule.
• Carry out secondary operations such as sub‑assembly of components, mechanical finishing, hand finishing, applying protective coatings and non‑destructive testing.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering & management to develop team working and ensure that safety, cost, quality and schedule are met.
• Ensure all tools, work instructions and equipment are maintained at correct standard.
• Ensure cleanliness of work stations and general working area.
• Maintain records of production builds and work independently as required.
• Assist with work in other areas of the site when required by management to achieve production schedules.

Essential: GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics, English, Science and Technology.

Desirable:

• Experience of mechanical and hand finishing of machine details.
• Experience of assembling basic sub‑assemblies.
• Experience of applying protective coatings.
• Experience of Non‑Destructive Testing.
• Follow manufacturing instruction sheets.
• Read basic engineering drawings.
• Knowledge and experience of Lean manufacturing / Business improvement Techniques.

• Reliable team player, capable of working on own initiative within a team environment.
• Willingness and flexibility to support activities at other Thales sites.
• May be required to work shifts to support business needs.
