Quarry Labourer
Marquette Mineral is looking for an individual to fill a Quarry Laborer position. We are looking for an individual who is self‑motivated and is willing to do hands‑on physical and mechanical work. The focus of this position is to support plant and quarry operations through general labor, equipment operation, support and maintenance tasks.

Schedule:
10‑hour shifts, Monday‑Friday with occasional weekend and night work as required. Working 50‑55 hours per week. Typical season runs from March until December annually.
- Ensure the crushing plant is operating properly; troubleshoot and safely resolve shutdowns.
- Perform daily inspections: check fluids, grease crushers, change cartridges, and monitor equipment condition.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards by cleaning jaw and cone crushers, screens, hoods, decks, catwalks, tool trailers, MCC buildings, and surrounding areas; wash equipment as needed.
- Handle materials tasks including measuring, counting, and changing screens; shovel and clear buildup under crushers and on decks.
- Prepare tools and equipment for maintenance, and perform maintenance during shutdowns.
- Operate skid steers, man lifts, and other required equipment; complete pre‑operational checks and report defects promptly.
- Notify the Foreman of upcoming repairs, site condition changes, or maintenance needs.
- Work safely and ensure compliance with all company, environmental, and regulatory requirements (MSHA, OSHA, EGLE).
- Work independently or as part of a team; maintain pride in clean equipment and work areas each shift.
- Communicate effectively to support efficient plant and quarry operations, meet production demands, and assist with additional duties as required.
- Previous construction or quarry/sand & gravel experience is an asset, including rigging.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Able to work safely, quickly, and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to work independently or in stressful/solo situations.
- Mechanically inclined, handy, and able to follow direction and learn new tasks.
- Solid understanding of safety and environmental protocols.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, crouching, and lifting.
- Physically demanding manual labour in dusty, noisy, and uneven environments.
- May involve long shifts (10+ hours), including weekends and nights as needed.
