Summary
The roll-up operator must roll the material tight and not funneled, cut at the proper length and assist in wrapping the roll with plastic to protect it during storage and transportation.
Responsibilities- Roll finished material tightly and evenly to prevent funneling or product damage.
- Cut material to the correct specified length according to production requirements.
- Assist in wrapping finished rolls with protective plastic for storage and transportation.
- Inspect finished rolls for quality defects and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Accurately record production information using company computer systems.
- Operate equipment safely while following all standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with housekeeping standards.
- Work closely with team members to ensure production goals and deadlines are met.
- Assist with material handling, staging, and movement of finished products as needed.
- Follow all quality control procedures to ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards immediately.
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and departmental goals.
- Cross-train in other production areas as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
- Basic computer proficiency required.
- Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions and production documents.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Dependable with good attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12-hour shifts).
- Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, push, and pull.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving machinery.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
This position is for night shift 7pm-7am 3-5 days a week depending on business needs.
