Inspect incoming material for quality specification and quantities, receive and issue raw material, and operate the robotic welder and other CNC machines. Tasks include programming, machine setup, operation, and adjustment of process variables to meet quality demands.

• Lifts workpiece manually or using a hoist and secures it in fixture or loads automatic feeding device.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machine factors (wire feed speed, amperage, polarity, gas type, weld rod).
• Starts machine, engages feed, and observes operation.
• Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
• Moves machine controls and guides to adjust machine.
• Unloads welded parts from robotic welder and places on appropriate containers.
• Removes rough spots from work pieces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
• Grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand scrapers, power chippers, portable grinders, or arc‑cutting equipment.
• Maintains accurate counts of parts; attaches labels or tags to finished part containers with customer, part number, quantity, and shop order information.
• Maintains company quality, efficiency, and productivity standards.
• Reads job specifications (e.g., blueprints) to determine type of welding and material requirements.
• Examines finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications using instruments such as gauges.
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Crew Leader.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment and follows safety regulations.

• Education and/or
  
  Experience:
  
  High School diploma or equivalent; basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure; 1 year welding experience; preference for working with robotic machinery.
• Language
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the English language; effective communication internally and externally.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods and observe/receive information from all relevant sources.
• Physical Demands: Frequent manual and finger dexterity required by daily use of hand tools; ability to stand for prolonged periods; bend, stretch, twist, reach, crouch, or kneel; lift 50 pounds regularly; require manual dexterity and safety‑mindedness.
• Additional Job Information: Active and fast‑paced environment with fabrication and production throughout the day; requires standing for long periods.
