This person will be responsible for building, analyzing, repairing, modifying, and refurbishing die casting and plastic injection molds in our low‑volume, high‑mix environment.
If you thrive on precision, variety and challenge in a supportive team, this role is for you. This position utilizes a variety of machines and precision equipment to support new build, troubleshoot tooling issues, and ensure molds meet dimensional, quality, and performance requirements.
- Build and repair all types, sizes, and shapes of die cast and plastic injection mold dies from blueprints or CAD files.
- Assemble and fit complex mold components (e.g., cooling channels, ejector systems).
- Perform preventative maintenance, and repair existing molds and tooling.
- Interface regularly with others in the organization to ensure internal/external customer deadlines are met.
- Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Lead by example, help to strengthen our culture of employee safety, product quality, and on-time delivery, ensuring all are treated with dignity and respect.
- Journeyman Mold Maker or 5+ years of equivalent experience building new die cast or plastic injection mold dies preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Experience with operating manual machines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Typical shift is 6 AM‑4:30 PM, Monday‑Friday. Schedules can change due to our customers’ needs and other variables.
